SEI Licensed CoursesThis 3-day class provides a detailed overview of the fundamental concepts and structure of the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI). The course is a prerequisite for appraisal team members and any certification or subsequent course that requires completion of an Introduction to CMMI course. The CMMI for Development (CMMI-DEV) model is a framework that helps organizations improve their ability to develop and maintain quality products and services. It consists of a set of best practices in project management, engineering, and process management/improvement for developing and maintaining high quality systems, software, and hardware products as well as services. Oppenheimer Partners usually provides Appraisal Team Training in conjunction with a particular SCAMPI Appraisal,
rather than as a standalone course. Prior to the appraisal on-site interval, we provide a 4-6 hour session of
appraisal team training to allocated and alternate appraisal team members, as well as local appraisal participants
and any other organization members who would benefit from a more thorough understanding of the SCAMPI methodologies
and their application in the current appraisal. Additional team training is provided as needed throughout the
appraisal itself.
However, organizations that are scheduling a large number of appraisals may choose to establish a pool of trained
appraisal team members to limit the amount of time required in training for each individual appraisal. To meet this
need, Oppenheimer Partners can also deliver a 1 to 2-day course that introduces potential appraisal team members to
the concepts and details of the SCAMPI methodology. After attending the appropriate 3-day Introduction to CMMI
course and this training, participants will qualify as potential SCAMPI Appraisal Team Members.
