Heather Oppenheimer, Senior Partner, has more than 25 years experience in all areas of product development, service delivery, and software engineering. She is a member of the team that developed the SEI-authorized 3-day Introduction to CMMI-SVC course. Although known for her work with large, globally distributed development projects, she is currently focusing on the process improvement needs of very small service delivery and embedded software development organizations, applying the CMMI model along with agile techniques for lightweight, but robust processes. She has co-chaired workshops for the International Conference on Systems Engineering, reviews software engineering journals, and referees grants for the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.

Heather has developed and taught courses and workshops related to standards and methodologies including ISO 9000, ISO 9001/2000, TL 9000 and Agile-related methodologies including use case technologies, UML (as used by Rational), Test-Driven-Development, SCRUM, and Extreme Programming techniques. She has also developed/adapted and deployed organizational processes using these standards and methodologies appropriate for the organizational context. She has led over 40 process and project management reviews and assessments, as well as system architecture reviews in Europe, Asia, and North America, for organizations ranging in size from fewer than 25 to more than 2000 staff.

Heather earned her Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, a Master of Education degree in Curriculum Design at the University of Oregon, and a Bachelor of Arts from Oberlin College in Ohio.
